Been having great fun with the band I've put together for our local Jubilee celebrations! I'll be joined by Nick on drums, Malcom on bass and Phil on guitar and backing vocals. It's incredible how the songs have taken on a new and interesting life of their own with this new sound. There'll be 7 songs from my 2 CD's in a half hour set and I can't wait for June 3rd!
I'll be back playing 2 or 3 songs at The Cross, Great Bromley this Wednesday 28th March as part of their 'Music Night'. There'll be a good and varied number of songsters performing in turn and it's usually a relaxed and enjoyable evening. I'll also have a new helper, Phil - on guitar and backing vox.
I thought it was about time to post some nice comments I've had about the new CD, so I've added a Feedback Page. There's also a new newspaper clipping on the 'Photos' page. There'll be videos coming along soon! Stay posted.
Played 3 songs at The Bull, Colchester last night, including a brand new one, Wiser Man. I had to do some quick thinking since it was so new I kept forgetting the words and had to make them up on the spot - good practice though ;-) Then, on the final chord my plectrum shattered! Must have been the extra strings (I used my 12 string). My old musical friend Tim was there and I was privileged to have him add some lovely harmony vocal on my song 'Touch The Moon'. Thanks Tim! All good stuff and there were some great musicians down there.
I should be playing a couple of songs there tomorrow night Wednesday 1st Feb. from 9pm.
Hoping you have a fantastic 2012! The CD has gone down really well and I'll be playing some more of the songs live in the year ahead. Keep posted for all the news, reviews and new videos of the songs which are coming soon!! To everyone who follows this site, has bought the CD or who has told me they like it, all I can say is 'Thank you so much, your support means the world to me'.
Wishing everybody a great Christmas with lots of fun, relaxation and listening to my new CD, This House ;-)
I was pretty nervous for my live interview at BBC Essex today! Steve Scruton, the presenter was really nice and I think it went OK. Here's the link to hear it but it will only be there for 7 days, until about Thursday 22nd December. Enjoy it!http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00m39vg/Steve_Scruton_15_12_2011/
I'll be on the Steve Scruton show on BBC Radio Essex this Thursday 15th December sometime between 2.30pm and 4pm to talk about the new CD. Here's the link to listen live wherever you are: http://www.bbc.co.uk/essex/programmes If you can't catch it live it should be available to listen again for 7 days afterwards. Wish me luck!
Such a friendly crowd there and a great variety of talent on show! Toby and I played 4 songs, Mysteries Of Our Time, Touch The Moon and from the new album Pulling Away and Highest Tree. W'ell certainly be back at The Cross and hopefully will be trying out some more venues in the new year.
I'll be playing a couple of songs at the music night above, with the help of my good friend Toby. There'll be plenty of acts, with no amplification and a relaxed atmosphere. The music usually starts about 8pm.
Here it is at last! I hope you like the 'This House' CD. Please let me know what you think here or by using the form on the 'Contact' page. Thanks so much for taking an interest.
